Overview:

SCAD's Alexander Hall Gallery seeks work by faculty members for its upcoming summer exhibition to celebrate the vast creative talents of the university's educators. This call is open to all current SCAD faculty members based in Savannah and faculty members from any department are welcome to apply. Jurors will consider work of diverse media, but will give priority to 2D works. No time-based media, no digital illustrations. Works must be pre-existing.

Submission Period:
    Application opens: Mon., March 25th
    Deadline: Sun., May 5th at 11:59 pm EST
Notification of acceptance: Week of April 29th
Exhibition: June 13th to Early September (DATE TBD) at Alexander Hall

Submission Requirements
 

  • Submit up to 5 works before Sun., May 5th at 11:59 pm EST.                              
    • If you would like to have more than one work considered, please submit each work as its own separate entry. More than 5 works will not be considered. 

      


     

  • Diverse practices are encouraged, showing traditional and unconventional use of material, experimentation, aesthetic expressions, styles and formats. Time-based media and digital illustrations will not be considered.
  • Works that fail to meet the requirements will not be considered. 



How to enter
    1.  Enter your full name, email address, phone number and SCAD affiliation. Faculty must include department/position title.

    2. Upload up to 5 works for consideration with the following information. You are allowed one image per work/entry*:


 

  • Title of work
  • Medium
  • Date of creation 
  • Dimensions in INCHES (2D works: H x W, or 3D works H x W x D) **
  • Edition, if applicable 
  • Retail and Artist Price***
  • Description of work



*Each image should be of high resolution, and must not exceed 1600 pixels on the longest side.
    **If photography is submitted, size of final printed work and specific type of print must be stated in the submission.
***The artist price is 1/2 the retail price.

If your work is accepted for exhibition, you must abide by the following requirements and timeline:

 

  • Deliver or ship accepted artworks to SCAD Exhibition Storage [102 East Lathrop Ave, Savannah, Georgia, 31415] between Mon. June 3 to Fri., June 7. If dropping off, email Michael Runnels at mrunnels@scad.edu to schedule delivery during SCAD business hours. All accepted works must be ready to hang prior to drop off/delivery to Exhibition Storage.
  • Works on paper must be framed professionally, and done so prior to installation (Mon., June 10th). Applicants are responsible for framing of accepted work. While not all works require framing, edges of artworks must be neat and presentable (i.e. paintings must be stretched on bars with clean, paint-free edges). 



PLEASE NOTE: SCAD reserves the right to reject work that does not follow the guidelines, procedures, and deadlines outlined above. SCAD also reserves the right to prohibit exhibition of works that appear incomplete by the time of installation or appear different from the originally proposed work(s) in the application.
